Kidney-Care Provider Adding 200 Jobs to Denver Economy With Expansion Project
11/18/2011
The company employs about 1,100 associates in Colorado, and has added over 320 jobs to Denver's economy since moving its headquarters there in 2009 from Los Angeles, CA.
DaVita's CEO Kent Thiry said the firm is bringing these jobs to Denver because it's "a great community to live and work in, and a great community in which to do business." He added that "everything" Gov. John Hickenlooper promised regarding quality of life and the positive business environment in both Denver and Colorado "has turned out to be true and exceeded our expectations."
Specifically DaVita Clinical Research--a division of the Fortune 500 company--will expand its capabilities with an early clinical-research center employing medical, technical and scientific professionals. The call center will focus on finding kidney-dialysis services for patients (either temporary ones while they're traveling or permanent facilities). While DaVita's existing call center in Malvern, PA, will continue to make dialysis placements, the Denver center will help handle increased call volume.
No details have yet been announced as to where exactly the research unit's new operations will be located in the region.
