04/03/2026
The company’s new 337,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, located at the Nearshoring Industrial Park, will support production of advanced automotive systems, including General Motors’ central compute unit, a liquid-cooled system designed to process data from multiple vehicle sensors and control key functions.
“We're proud to contribute technologies that enable the next generation of software-defined vehicles with this significant investment in the region and the future of automotive technology,” said Jeffrey Shay, President of Valeo North America. “We're grateful for the opportunity to grow our business with GM in the state of Texas.”
Valeo develops and manufactures advanced automotive systems and components, supporting the transition to software-defined and electrified vehicles. The company provides technologies focused on safety, efficiency, and vehicle intelligence.
“This project represents the largest industrial opportunity our region has ever seen,” noted Ralph Garcia, Chief Operating Officer of the McAllen Economic Development Corporation. “Our approach is to understand each company’s needs and execute quickly, and that’s exactly what we did with Valeo.”
