Key Electronics Creating 75 Jobs in Jeffersonville, Indiana
03/22/2011
"We are very excited to have the opportunity to continue to invest and grow our business in Southern Indiana. The electronic contract manufacturing industry has felt the negative impact of the worldwide recession, and we are grateful to have our business back on a substantial growth track again," said Thomas Hardy, president and owner of Key Electronics. "With the significant labor inflation being experienced in China, we are finding ourselves in a position to compete for business opportunities that we would have never dreamed of just two years ago. We plan for our 2011 business to nearly double from our 2010 level. The support of One Southern Indiana, the city of Jeffersonville, and the state of Indiana has been instrumental in keeping us focused on continued growth in Jeffersonville."
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has offered Key Electronics up to $250,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $75,000 in training grants. The city of Jeffersonville will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of One Southern Indiana.
Key Electronics currently employs more than 150 people at the Jeffersonville plant. It will begin hiring for new positions later in the spring.
