01/19/2017
With five manufacturing plants in the southeastern United States and more than 3,200 employees around the world, Ascend manufactures a variety of compounds, including fibers, intermediate chemicals, resins and more. The company supplies a wide range of industries and applications.
“Expanding polymer production lines at our Greenwood facility is good for South Carolina and good for Ascend. It allows us to take advantage of the expertise we’ve built for decades to deliver the best quality and service to our customers,” said Ascend Performance Materials Greenwood Site Director Hal McCord.
“Ascend Performance Materials’ decision to invest in Greenwood County is great news for Team South Carolina. The $3.8 million they are investing and the 20 new jobs they are creating will make a real difference in the community,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
“South Carolina has a rich history in the chemical production sector, and today’s announcement by Ascend Performance Materials shows that this industry continues to flourish in the Palmetto State. We congratulate this tremendous company on their continued commitment to our state and look forward to watching them thrive here for years to come,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt explained.
“We are excited about Ascend’s continued growth in Greenwood County and wish them much success in the years to come,” Greenwood Partnership Alliance Chairman Frank Wideman III said.
