Australian Plastics Manufacturer to Expand in Orlando, FL, With $19.4 Million Investment

The firm said it will move into its new 500,000-sq.-ft. space at Airport International Park by November 1.
Amcor Rigid Plastics is among the world's largest manufacturers of plastic packaging for the beverage, food, personal and home care, and pharmaceuticals industries. It employs over 5,800 people in 13 countries, and is a subsidiary of Amcor, a global company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, with over 33,000 employees.
"We have been a part of the business community in Orlando since 1979 and are happy to be expanding in the area with this new facility," said Larry Weber, VP and GM for Amcor Rigid Plastics North American Beverage. "Our colleagues in the current Orlando plant have done an outstanding job in an older facility. We look forward to moving into a modern, new facility and are pleased with the assistance provided by the City of Orlando."
The company received approval from the state of Florida and the City of Orlando for an incentive package totaling $285,510.
