Cooper Power Systems Closing Lumberton, Mississippi, Facility
10/06/2010
Cooper will move production of its single-phase pad-mounted transformers to other facilities by the third quarter of 2011. Cooper employs 87 people in Lumberton.
"This is going to be a pain that's going to be felt by every person in this area," said Lamar County Supervisor Ben Winston. "We're trying to get some other people to locate back into the area."
Lumberton Alderman Timothy Johnson says Cooper has not yet formally notified city officials about the closure.
