Fuel Total Systems Chooses Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, for Manufacturing Plant
11/01/2018
With this new location, FTS will be better suited to serve its Southeastern customers. The company will build a new 110,000-square-foot facility in the Cherry Glen Industrial Park, a Select Tennessee Certified site.
The company focuses on the development, design, manufacturing, and sale of fuel tanks, appurtenant parts, as well as engine and Hybrid parts. FTS is based in Japan and also has operations in Kentucky.
“We are very excited to be locating our newest FTS facility in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee,” said Hiroyuki Ochiai, President of FTS Co., Ltd. “We would like to thank the State of Tennessee, Mount Pleasant and Maury County officials, as well as community members for all the support we have received throughout this process. Our mission is to create a safe workplace for our employees, to be a good corporate citizen in this community, and to grow together with the people of Mount Pleasant and Maury County.”
“I thank FTS for choosing to locate new operations in Mount Pleasant and for creating 150 new jobs in Maury County,” Governor Bill Haslam said. “The automotive sector in Tennessee continues to be one of our strongest industries with automotive companies operating in 88 out of our 95 counties. I appreciate FTS for investing in our state and helping Tennessee lead in the automotive sector.”
“Foreign direct investment is one of the state’s main goals with more than 900 foreign-owned establishments located in our state,” Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “I appreciate FTS, a Japanese-based company, for keeping our foreign direct investment momentum going by locating new operations and creating 150 new jobs in Maury County. We thank FTS for its commitment to our state and look forward to building a strong partnership for years to come.”
“We want to welcome Fuel Total Systems to Maury County and thank the company for choosing our community as the location for its new operation,” said Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles. “This announcement highlights the fact that Maury County is rapidly becoming known for advanced manufacturing, and has the teamwork and support of community, state and regional partners to succeed.”
“This is an exciting time for our community,” Maury Alliance President Wil Evans stated. “Fuel Total Systems will provide excellent job opportunities for citizens in Maury County and across the region. We are thankful that the company has decided to locate here and understand that this is a statement to the quality workforce that Maury County offers. We also deeply appreciate the hard work on the part of many people and organizations that have led to this day. Without our partnership with organizations such as the City of Mount Pleasant, the Maury County IDB, Mount Pleasant Power Systems and the Maury County Commission, projects such as this could not happen.”
