Coca-Cola Plans $30 Million Expansion At Its Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bottling Plant
11/15/2013
The firm will replace its Dasani line with a smartwater line, which will be one of only five smartwater lines in North America. Coca-Cola is also expanding its warehouse operations and loading docks facility. With this expansion, the company will produce the bottles here in Wisconsin, as opposed to shipping them in from out of state.
“Coca-Cola is a major employee in Milwaukee and this expansion is a reassurance that the company will continue to grow and compete in Wisconsin,” Gov. Scott Walker said. “Milwaukee is home to 150 water-related businesses, and Coca-Cola’s presence helps solidify the area as the water hub of the world.”
Construction is already underway and is expected to be complete in April of next year. Coca-Cola employs 400 people in Milwaukee and 1,000 in Wisconsin. This expansion is a sign of their commitment to remaining in the state, the Governor’s Office said.
