Rubbermaid to Relocate 200 Jobs to Its Winfield, Kansas, Plant
12/27/2011
Currently the Winfield plant makes Rubbermaid outdoor storage and outdoor living products as well as insulated water coolers and ice chests. Capacity will be increased to yield more manufactured outdoor refuse and home organization products. Moreover, Rubbermaid will build a new 500,000-sq.-ft. distribution center next to its current facilities.
All the expansion projects are expected to be finished by fourth quarter 2012.
At the state level, Rubbermaid is eligible for certain incentives (including funding from Promoting Employment Across Kansas and Kansas Industrial Training) plus monies from other programs which help create jobs and expand the Kansas economy.
Michael Grant, director of operations for Newell Rubbermaid Winfield, said the company has a long history of investing in the Winfield community, and appreciates its strong partnerships with the state of Kansas and the people of Winfield. "Together with our dedicated employees, we are proud to continue to offer our consumers innovative and quality products made in the USA."
