MidAmerican Energy Installing 258 Wind Turbines in Iowa

MidAmerican Energy Company is expanding its wind portfolio in Iowa with projects to install wind turbines in Cass, Adams, Marshall, Calhoun, and Adair Counties next year. The expansion calls for 258, 2.3-megawatt turbines that can power up to 190,000 homes.

"We are pleased to move forward with these wind energy projects in Iowa. The projects make good economic sense for Iowa and our customers as the state continues to benefit from the construction of additional renewable energy generating capacity," said Bill Fehrman, president of MidAmerican Energy.

The project is expected to positively affect these local communities with construction jobs, long-term maintenance jobs, annual payments to landowners, and property tax revenues.

MidAmerican Energy began building wind energy projects in 2004.
