12/06/2012
Royce Associates recently acquired a 48,000 square foot manufacturing, chemical production, distribution and warehousing facility located on 14 acres at 41 Peachview Blvd. in Gaffney and is in the process of upgrading the facility. The company will service customers in the textile, paper, construction and plastics markets. The facility is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.
“Royce has experienced a significant expansion over the past several years and is projecting a further increase in new products and applications. This facility will play a key role in supporting our growth in the future,” said A.J. Royce, president of Royce Associates.
“Gaffney is a perfect fit for Royce. Geographically, it makes a lot of sense with our current and future customer base,” said Harry Anand, president of Royce International. “We are recognized for industry leading technical experts in the various industries we serve. We plan to bring this technology to our new Gaffney site and use this as the foundation for our next stage of growth.”
“Today’s announcement is another win for one of South Carolina’s rural areas. We celebrate Royce Associates’ decision to invest $1 million and create 25 new jobs in Gaffney. Announcements like this one show that more and more companies are recognizing the benefits of doing business in South Carolina,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.
“South Carolina has a long history in the chemical production sector and today’s announcement shows that industry continues to thrive in our state. Royce Associates new location also builds on the Palmetto State’s manufacturing renaissance and will help create wealth in Gaffney,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt. Information on incentives the firm may be eligible for was not immediately available.
“We are thrilled that Royce Associates has chosen Cherokee County to do business. Our workforce and business-friendly climate will enable Royce to thrive. We look forward to watching their success for many years to come,” said Cherokee County Council Chairman Tim Spencer.
