Shorr Packaging Corp. Opens Distribution Hub-Warehouse In Atlanta, Georgia
02/23/2016
According to the firm, the warehouse creates a permanent presence for existing customers who have facilities in the Southeast region and provides better delivery options for Shorr to expand and succeed in that market. The company will consolidate both Atlanta locations into the new facility, which will serve as a regional hub for: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Louisiana.
"Our commitment and priority is to improve service for our customers by increasing inventory and product availability in this region," said Craig Funkhouser, President. "Atlanta is a terrific area and the facility is in an optimal location. Shorr will look to make the continued investments in infrastructure and logistics to support our customers."
"With our new location and larger footprint, we'll provide improved service levels, decreased freight transit times, and have the flexibility to grow and expand to meet our customer's future requirements," said Darrin Peterson, Corporate Director of Operations.
"Our goal was to optimize and streamline our supply chain to allow for better distribution capabilities," said Thom Meehan, Vice President of Supply Chain. "The changes in transportation and warehousing will help reduce freight expenses, decrease disruptions, and increase logistical and operational efficiencies."
