02/06/2009
N.E.W. Customer Service Companies Inc., a provider and manager of customer service for extended service and buyer protection plans, will open its 11th U.S. call center in Altoona, Pennsylvania, according to the Pennsylvania governor's office. More than 480 new jobs will be created over the next three years. N.E.W. will renovate a former department store and plans to begin operations sometime this spring. "We are excited about our opportunity to expand our business in Altoona," says Tony Nader, N.E.W.'s CEO. "The work force here is strong, driven, and skilled, and we are confident that the call center employees will provide outstanding customer service." The company will receive an incentives package of at least $397,000, which includes state and local grants, training assistance, and tax credits contingent on job creation.
