Asurion Eyes New Headquarters-Operations Hub in Nashville, Tennessee

02/08/2018
A global technology company, Asurion will create 400 information technology jobs as it consolidates operations into a new corporate headquarters in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

Asurion will consolidate four existing Nashville facilities into a single downtown corporate headquarters location, part of a newly announced office development in Nashville’s Gulch district, where it will create the 400 additional jobs.

The location will house Asurion’s corporate personnel and serve as a global product and technology hub for the company. Pending an executed lease agreement, construction of the new office is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2019 and open in the third quarter of 2021.

“For almost two decades Asurion has been part of Nashville’s vibrant growth and is excited to continue building the city’s tech hub brand,” said Asurion CEO Tony Detter. “Our consolidation into a facility that will serve as the global product and technology hub for Asurion’s innovation and development in the heart of Nashville further cements our commitment to tech job growth and the city.”

Asurion employs more than 3,100 Tennesseans in Middle Tennessee. In addition to its existing office locations in Davidson County, Asurion operates customer support centers in Antioch and Smyrna.

“I’d like to thank Asurion for its plan to create 400 well-paying technology jobs in Nashville,” Governor Bill Haslam said. “Asurion’s significant expansion in Nashville is yet another sign that Tennessee will lead the nation in job growth and lift up the quality of life for our citizens.”

“Asurion currently employs more than 3,000 Tennesseans and it is very encouraging when one of Nashville’s largest employers moves forward with a major expansion like this,” Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe. “The creation of 400 technology jobs is tremendous news for Nashville and the economy of the entire Middle Tennessee region. These are high quality jobs that any community would want to have. I’d like to thank Asurion for its commitment to invest and create these jobs here in Nashville.”

“TVA and Nashville Electric Service congratulate Asurion on its newest location in Nashville,” TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley said. “Attracting and retaining quality jobs is fundamental to TVA’s mission of service, and we are proud to partner with Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, and Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce to further that mission.”
