Delta Furniture Company Expands Its Pontotoc, Mississippi, Production Facility
03/10/2014
“We continue to be thankful and impressed with the leadership of the state of Mississippi, the city of Pontotoc, the Mississippi Development Authority and Three Rivers Planning and Development District for their continued support and assistance in allowing businesses to create more jobs in our state,” said Delta Furniture President/Co-founder Wesley Walls. Delta Furniture Company was founded in 2009 in Pontotoc, and the company has since grown to more than 200 employees.
“From our company’s beginning, we have received tremendous support from our community partners such as Mayor Stafford and the city of Pontotoc officials, as well as Three Rivers and the Mississippi Development Authority. The support we have received from Governor Phil Bryant has been very much appreciated by the Delta team,” said Delta Furniture President of Manufacturing/Co-founder Terry Wages. “I would like to thank our employees for their efforts in building quality products for our customers. We are proud to be a part of the growth going on in Pontotoc and are excited about our future at Delta.”
“This year marks Delta Furniture’s fifth year of successful operations in Pontotoc, and this is the company’s second expansion in such a short amount of time. That speaks volumes about the strong business environment and workforce in Mississippi,” Governor Bryant said. “I appreciate the Delta Furniture team for demonstrating to the country and the world that great, quality-made products come from Mississippi, and I wish the company many more years of success in Pontotoc.”
The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for roof repairs to the company’s facility. The city of Pontotoc provided assistance for the project, as well.
“It is a priority of MDA, working in collaboration with our economic development partners throughout the state, to provide Mississippi’s companies with a supportive business climate that fosters growth and success. This includes providing support to existing companies such as Delta Furniture as they strengthen their roots in our state,” said MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen. “Economic development is a team sport, and we thank our partners in the city of Pontotoc and at Three Rivers Planning and Development District for working with us to make this expansion possible.”
