South Carolina Projects Creating 1,200 New Jobs

03/11/2009
Crane Co., a diversified manufacturing company, will invest approximately $20 million to consolidate vending machine operations at its plant in Williston, South Carolina, according to state economic development officials. The move will bring an estimated 1,000 new jobs to the area over the next five years. In Laurens County, South Carolina, Force V Environmental LLC will invest $2.5 million to locate a new window and door production facility in the city of Clinton. The new factory will create nearly 200 new jobs. The company will move into an existing vacant facility and is expected to open next month. "Force V is excited to be moving to South Carolina, which is the center of its market," says Richard Porosky, a company principal. "The warm welcome and friendly reception of the state, city, and residents of Clinton was a factor in us locating in this community." Officials did not release information about financial incentives for either project.
