Bayer HealthCare Consolidating All East Coast Business in New Jersey
04/05/2011
"We are very excited about the prospect of having a new site and facility that can house East Coast-based Bayer HealthCare employees from every division and function under one roof," said Mark Trudeau, president and CEO, Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc., Bayer HealthCare LLC USA, and chair of the company's U.S. East Coast Site Search Committee. "New Jersey is home to many biopharmaceutical and healthcare companies, and we look forward to benefiting from the many resources and opportunities available to us in the state."
Bayer currently has facilities in Wayne and Montville. It is considering several locations near its current sites for a consolidated headquarters. The company expects to conduct initial moves at the end of the year or early 2012, continuing through the end of 2013. Of the 500 slated new jobs, 300 will originate from employee relocations from other Bayer sites, while 200 positions will be newly created.
Fifteen of the world's 25 largest pharmaceutical companies call New Jersey home. Bayer produces some of the best-known pharmaceuticals, such as Aspirin, Aleve, and Alka Seltzer, among other drugs.
