Office Supply Company Building Distribution Center in Virginia

Safco Products Company, a supplier of office products, will build a distribution facility in Windsor, Virginia. The $17 million project is expected to create 40 new jobs. "Virginia was the optimal location for our new high-tech distribution center servicing the entire East Coast," says Donovan Ackerson, the company's director of distribution and logistics. "It allows us to drastically improve our delivery times to the entire Eastern seaboard. The Port of Virginia was another major factor in our decision that allowed us to maintain ocean carrier relationships, utilize the leading-edge port and reduce our lead times on global source products."The Tidewater News reports that the company stipulated that the project be "fast-track" and plans to complete the new 31.08-acre facility and begin operations by early December.
