Zloop Computer and Electronic Recycling Centers Plans Fernley, Nevada, Headquarters-Operation Center
07/29/2014
As an end of life electronics and electrical equipment recycler, Zloop specializes in breaking down old and outdated electronics and turning them into feeder stock commodities that are sold and used to make new products. Everything the company creates is either used for new products or used to create clean energy. All electronics transformation and recovery is done domestically with complete transparency so customers can be certain their used electronics are destroyed properly.
Zloop officials conservatively plan to create 56 permanent jobs; however, the company estimates that the actual number of jobs created could realistically be around 125 within the first fiscal year. Even though the company has not begun operations in Nevada yet, they are already looking to expand their unopened facility by 80,000 square feet to meet increased demand. The company will move their headquarters over a nine month period but keep their North Carolina and all other facilities operational.
"We are thrilled to be opening our West Coast Operations in Fernley, Lyon County in the Great State of Nevada," says Bob LaBarge, Founder and President of Zloop, Inc. "We sought proposals from several western states and chose Nevada for the impressive incentives packages, quality of life, and excellent workforce. We look forward to moving our corporate headquarters to Fernley and working closely with the surrounding communities as we continue to grow our operations here and throughout the US and Canada."
Rob Hooper, Executive Director of Northern Nevada Development Authority, said “We are delighted to welcome Zloop to the Sierra Region of Northern Nevada. Zloop is creating the kind of jobs we as economic developers like to see in Nevada. They are good high paying jobs that come with quality benefits. Good jobs have a multiplier effect on our economy as employees will be able to buy houses, cars, electronics, furniture, and other products from local businesses. A company like Zloop has a huge effect on the surrounding area. And, as the work of Zloop is good for the environment, it is a big win-win for the Sierra Region.”
Danny Campos, Vice President of Business Development stated that Tom Miller, of Miller Industrial Properties, was the initiating and lead broker on the expansion project to Nevada. “Tom worked for some time on this project and deserves the credit for his work”. NNDA represented Zloop, Inc. at the Governor’s Board meeting on July 17th gaining incentive approval. “We will continue to work with Mr. Miller and the executive team of Zloop well into the future to do our part to ensure that their plans for Nevada come to fruition”.
