TrueLearn, Relocates Headquarters-Operations To Mooresville, North Carolina

TrueLearn, plans to create 44 new jobs and move its headquarters and operations, 28 miles north of Charlotte, to Mooresville, North Carolina.

The company is expanding its services to new fields within health care and plans to invest $435,000 over five years in Iredell County.

“Every day, we have the unique opportunity to influence the lives of thousands of young physicians in their efforts to outperform on some of the most high-stakes licensure exams on the planet,” said Dr. Joshua Courtney, TrueLearn’s Founder & CEO. “To achieve this, we work with some of the best minds in the education technology community. After a great run in Pittsburgh, we are thrilled to move our headquarters to the Charlotte, North Carolina area as the company enters into a new phase in its growth cycle, and we are grateful for the support we have received from the community.”

A performance-based grant of $50,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate TrueLearn’s move to Iredell County. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance to local governments to help attract economic investment and to create jobs. Companies receive no money upfront and must meet job creation and capital investment targets to qualify for payment. All One NC grants require a matching grant from local governments, and any award is contingent upon that condition being met.

“North Carolina is uniquely suited for innovative, knowledge-based companies like TrueLearn, and our workforce is ready to fill these technology and data science jobs,” said Governor Roy Cooper.

“Our higher education system and competitive technology and healthcare industries attracted TrueLearn to North Carolina,” said N.C. Commerce Secretary Anthony M. Copeland. “I know TrueLearn will benefit from and add to the innovation happening in healthcare, education and technology here in our state.”

“TrueLearn will find itself at home in Mooresville,” said Mooresville’s N.C. Representative John A. Fraley. “Our community’s healthcare, software and education professionals will provide an environment and workforce well-suited for TrueLearn’s mission.”

In addition to North Carolina Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, other key partners in the project include the N.C. General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, the Town of Mooresville, Iredell County, and the Mooresville South Iredell Economic Development Corporation.
