Southern Motion Building Pontotoc, Mississippi Furniture Facility

Southern Motion has begun construction on a new 180,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Pontotoc, Mississippi. The company, which produces reclining furniture, is investing $7 million and will create up to 400 jobs in the coming five years.

"This is an important project for Southern Motion, and we are excited that work is underway," said Roger Bland, company president. "We appreciate our local and statewide partners that assisted us in moving forward with this expansion."

The Mississippi Development Authority helped fund the county through the Development Infrastructure Program and the Rural Impact Fund Program.
