Lime Energy to Relocate Headquarters From IL to NC, and Create Up to 75 Jobs Over Next Two Years

Chicago-based Lime Energy has announced it will move its headquarters to Huntersville, NC (in the Charlotte region), and hire up to 75 new workers in the next two years for info tech and engineering jobs. The relocation is expected to be completed this October.

Lime Energy offers energy consulting services which help clients lower energy consumption. About 100 of its 400 employees work in North Carolina, as the firm already has a presence in Locust and Greensboro.

Charlotte's Chamber President Bob Morgan said a few energy firms have moved to the region recently. "The more energy firms we have brought, the more interest we have from others."

Lime Energy President/CEO John O'Rourke said his company is excited to connect to the emerging energy hub in North Carolina. "Lime Energy has built a national platform that makes clean energy a reality for our government, commercial and utility customers." He noted that the firm has grown 30 percent year over year for the past three years, and reported record backlog in its most recent earnings call.
