Gulfstream Expected to Expand Massachusetts Operations With New $20 Million Service Center Adding 100 Jobs
09/12/2011
The project is anticipated to add 100 jobs and retain 130 employees.
"We look forward to Gulfstream's expansion and it bringing its new GS650 corporate aircraft to Westfield," said Airport Commissioner Joseph Mitchell.
The lease still must be approved by the City Council. A tax incentive package in negotiation is said to give Gulfstream up to a 50 percent reduction in property tax for the first 15 years of operation; it must still get approval from the City Council and the state's Economic Development and Housing Department.
Airport commissioners said the lease approval is tied to job retention/creation criteria.
