Germany-Based Hubner Manufacturing Plans Dunlap, Tennessee, Plant

Hubner Manufacturing Corporation, a company that manufactures a wide range of products for the transportation and energy sectors, will invest $9.6 million to establish a new manufacturing facility in Dunlap, Tennessee.

The Germany-based company, and subsidiary of Germany-based Hubner Group, will build a 36,000-square-foot building on Tram Trail in the Dunlap Industrial Park. Construction of the new facility will begin in the second quarter of 2019.

The company plans to create 66 jobs in Sequatchie County over the next five years. Hubner will produce extruded and molded rubber parts, gaskets, and seals for the transportation, oil and gas, and aerospace industries. Window systems, handicap lifts & ramps, and possibly gangways systems are under consideration for a later phase.

“Dunlap was selected over 11 other sites across six different states,” Ron Paquette, CEO of Hubner North America, said. “The cooperation and support provided by the local, county, and state officials surpassed competing locations and the local workforce demonstrated a strong work ethic and sense of pride in quality that best fit our family-owned company. “Hubner is looking forward to establishing partnerships with the local high school and nearby universities to sponsor STEM projects, apprenticeship opportunities, and workforce development programs,” Paquette added.

“We appreciate Hubner’s commitment to invest in Sequatchie County and bring stable, family-wage jobs to Dunlap,” Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “Hubner has a strong track record in the communities where it operates, and we look forward to the ways it will support and grow the local economy in Dunlap.”

“The City of Dunlap is extremely pleased with Governor Lee’s announcement of a new manufacturing facility in Dunlap, Tennessee,” Dunlap City Mayor Dwain Land said. “We have been searching for a company that would locate in Dunlap and give our citizens high-paying wages. I’d like to thank Governor Lee and his staff for the assistance in attracting Hubner to Dunlap.”
