Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Building New Lewiston, Idaho, Facility

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is building a manufacturing plant in Lewiston, Idaho, creating more than 160 jobs, according to KLEW CBS 3. The company will also build a Solution Delivery Center (SDC) in Pullman, Washington. SEL manufactures products and services for utilities, including generators, transmission protection, distribution automation, and control systems.

"We're growing globally, with product in over 130 countries, and customers in many industry and utility sectors. We are running out of space, especially in the areas of manufacturing, research and development, and engineering services.so it's time to build more," said company founder and President Edmund O. Schweitzer III.

The Lewiston facility will measure 105,800 square feet and be situated on 25 acres in the Lewiston Business and Technology Park. The SDC will comprise 70,000 square feet in the Pullman Port of Whitman.

"These are exciting times for SEL and I am positive about the future.even in the face of unprecedented political and economic uncertainty," Schweitzer said. "However, there are many opportunities."
