Auto Parts Manufacturer, KwangSung Corp., Plans $9 Million Expansion At Dadeville, Alabama, Production Center

The company, operating in Dadeville since 2006, uses a blow molding process to produce components that include door panels and sun visors for Hyundai and Kia.
“The success of automobile manufacturers in the Southeast depends on high quality parts producers like KwangSung and their skilled Alabama workforce,” said Gov Robert Bentley said. “I commend KwangSung for its expansion and I am delighted to contribute to the development of new jobs for our residents.”
The Governor awarded Dadeville a $350,000 Community Development Block Grant to assist with infrastructure improvements needed for the expansion. CDBG funding will be used to provide sewer services for the new facility located on a 25-acre site in the industrial park. Dadeville is supplying $33,000 as a match for the grant.
Previously, a $600,000 grant awarded by ADECA helped KwangSung to locate in the area, and ADECA funding also assisted another automobile components manufacturer to locate and expand in the industrial park. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development allocates CDBG funds to Alabama.
