China-Based Peak Corporation Invests $6.6 Million In Manning, South Carolina, Manufacturing Plant
11/25/2014
The facility will house the manufacturing and processing of hydraulic products and lifts. These products have exceptional relevance in South Carolina as the Palmetto State is home to a booming automotive industry. Founded in 1999 in Foshan, China, Peak Corporation has more than 15 years’ experience in the design, manufacture and global distribution of an extensive line of automotive lifts, including 2-post, 4-post, scissors and portable lifts. Peak employs certified welders and professional engineers to follow a strict quality process to meet many of the world’s certification requirements.
“The U.S. is a country that thrives on the auto industry. In the past, we have established a great sales network to serve our automotive customers in the U.S. Today marks another chapter for our company as we are investing in our first physical facility in the U.S. We are thankful for the assistance we have received from state and county government and also very much appreciate the help we received from John Ling and the South Carolina Department of Commerce-China office. It made our decision to come to South Carolina much easier,” said Peak Corporation Founder/CEO Jihao Zou.
“It’s exciting to see an international company like Peak Corporation choose to do business in South Carolina. Their decision to establish their first U.S. facility in Manning is a testament to our reputation as a state with an elite workforce and a strong business environment. We welcome Peak to South Carolina, and congratulate them on investing $6.6 million and creating 59 new jobs in Clarendon County,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
“Congratulations to Peak Corporation on locating their first manufacturing facility in the United States. The Central SC Alliance and Clarendon County welcome you to our region and look forward to a strong, successful partnership. As the third Chinese manufacturer to invest in the Central SC region, it proves the dedication and commitment of everyone working together to ensure the prosperity of this region and this state,” said Central SC Alliance Chairman Michael Brenan.
