Jing-Jin Electric North America, a Tier 1 electric vehicle supplier of drive train systems, power electronics and software for passenger and commercial vehicles, plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The $16.5 million project is expected to create 100 jobs.

The investment will include the construction of a new 40,000-square-foot building.

“The expansion of JJE is important not only for the promotion of job opportunities in Farmington Hills, but the development may breed investment interest within the area and attract new businesses,” said Farmington Hills Economic Development Director Cristia Brockway. “This could help with the community’s economic diversity and provide new business services to the area.”

The project is being supported by a $1 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant.
