DuPont Expanding Ohio Solar Panel Plant

01/19/2010
A $175 million expansion at DuPont Co.'s plant in Circleville in central Ohio is expected to create 70 jobs in the solar panel industry. Expansion at the site will also help in the retention of 444 jobs, and provide 230 temporary construction jobs.

Wilmington, Del.-based DuPont plans to use the expansion for its next line of films used on certain solar panels. Production is scheduled to start in fall 2011. According to Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, DuPont declined expansion two years ago due to concerns over the cost and reliability of electric service. He says a state energy plan is addressing those issues.
