Superion Expands St. Mary, Florida, Operations Complex
01/31/2018
"The expansion of our Lake Mary office is the latest step in our business growth strategy to build nationally recognized Centers of Excellence for our innovative software solutions," Superion CEO Simon Angove said. "The Lake Mary expansion will accelerate the delivery of solutions that help transform public service operations and support better engagement with communities."
"Our county's software and IT industry is strong, and getting stronger, with 14 percent more software developers than the national average compared to other similarly-sized areas," said Seminole County Chairman John Horan. "Jobs like Superion's are in-demand, and we are committed to preparing our community with training and support so our workforce can meet the demands of our companies now, and well into the future."
"Superion has found success already in Lake Mary, and I know they are making the right decision to expand here," said Lake Mary Mayor David Mealor. "Lake Mary's growing IT cluster, coupled with the talent pipeline coming from our local colleges will support Superion's continued success. We're proud to have Superion in Lake Mary, and we know their growth helps tell the story of economic development in our city."
According to company officials, Superion employed 215 people prior to the expansion and is currently staffed with 400 full-time professionals in the Orlando region. The new positions in the areas of product management and support, software development, professional services, finance, sales, marketing, and administration. Investments in building improvements, machinery, equipment, and leasing will help further extend the company's expansion commitments.
The State of Florida, Seminole County and the Orlando Economic Partnership (the Partnership) were instrumental in supporting the company's expansion decision.
"A well-established company in the region, Superion, came to us with a bold vision to expand and create more than 355 new, high-wage jobs," said Tim Giuliani, President & CEO of Orlando Economic Partnership. "Superion considered two other locations in North Carolina and Iowa. Our team connected the company with our public and private partners and assisted them through the competitive process. We are so glad to be a part of the company's success and appreciate Superion's commitment to the Orlando region and decision to stay and grow here."
