Gerber Expansion in Michigan to Create 200 Jobs

Nestle Nutrition, a division of international food company Nestle, will invest $75 million to expand its Gerber Products Company facility in Fremont, Michigan, according to multiple news sources. The project is expected to create 200 new jobs. The Muskegon Chronicle reports that the company will house Nestle Nutrition's scientific research for baby and nutritional products; the Associated Press (AP) reports that production lines and a call center will also be part of the expanded facility. Incentives offered to Nestle Nutrition, which is headquartered in Switzerland, are valued at approximately US$44 million, according to the AP, including 15 years of state and local tax abatement. Gerber was founded in Fremont and is currently headquartered in New Jersey.
