FreightWaves Expands Chattanooga, Tennessee, Operations Center

A provider of news, data, and near-time analytics for the global freight industry, FreightWaves will invest $3.9 million to expand its operations in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The transportation and logistics data and content provider plans on adding nearly 22,000-square-feet to its facility in Hamilton County, and expects to create 260 new jobs.

The city also has one of the highest concentrations of individuals connected to the freight sector in North America. Not only is Chattanooga a great place for any technology startup, the city and the State of Tennessee offer FreightWaves an unparalleled advantage in the freight industry. We are excited to continue our growth in Chattanooga and the support of the city and state will help us accelerate our global reach."

“Since 2011, more than 12,000 jobs have been created in Hamilton County, and I appreciate FreightWaves for adding 260 new jobs in Chattanooga,” Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “FreightWaves currently employs approximately 50 people at its Chattanooga facility and with this expansion, they are growing their workforce exponentially. I thank the company for making this substantial expansion in Hamilton County and look forward to seeing FreightWaves’ continued success in our state.”
