02/01/2018
The company plans to make changes to its production plant in in Belvidere, Illinois, and relocate manufacturing of its boil-in-bag vegetables to Tecumseh.
The plant, which was rebuilt after a disastrous fire in 2014, currently employs about 200 full-time employees. With its new boil-in bag production the plant plans to increase its workforce by about 20 per cent.
According to local officials the plant bolsters the agricultural economy around Essex County, with farmers benefiting from the firm purchasing large quantities of their harvest.
The plant is also located in close proximity to major U.S. cities, located just across the U.S. border, 12.5 miles east of Detroit, Michigan and 69 miles north of Toledo, Ohio.
