Royal Canin Expands North Sioux City, South Dakota, Facility
02/16/2022
This investment marks an additional commitment to the community since Royal Canin began local expansion six years ago.
“Over the past two years, the country experienced a boom in pet ownership and heightened focus on pets’ health. Royal Canin is seeing significant growth as a result. We want to continue to invest in our business to support these pets, their owners, and our professional partners. We already know what an incredible place the North Sioux City community is and are thrilled to expand our presence here,” said Cecile Coutens, President, Royal Canin North America.
To support this investment, the Governor's Office of Economic Development awarded the company a $3,950,145 Reinvestment Payment Program grant. The grant funding was approved by the Board of Economic Development.
“Back in 2016, Royal Canin decided to build a new state-of-the-art facility. Since then, they’ve continued to invest in their facility and this project is just the latest commitment to North Sioux City and South Dakota. We are pleased we could partner with them on their continued growth,” said GOED Commissioner Steve Westra.
The Royal Canin company, the owner of the ROYAL CANIN® brand, is a division of Mars Petcare and the global leader in nutritional health for cats and dogs. The company operates in more than 100 markets with 8,000 employees globally.
“Royal Canin is an innovative company and a valued member of the North Sioux City business community,” added Andrew Nilges, Executive Director of the North Sioux City Development Corporation. “Their products are known and trusted by pet owners around the world. North Sioux City is appreciative of Royal Canin choosing to expand here and are proud to collaborate with them on their expansion project.”
