Kissinger Electric Expands Operations Center In Columbia City, Indiana
02/08/2017
Kissinger Electric is an electrical contracting company serving northern Indiana, and is currently located at 1961 E. Bair Road in Columbia City. The company will relocate and build a new 7,700-square-foot facility on a vacant lot located on S. Progress Court.
“We are excited about the next phase that we are entering into with the expansion of Kissinger Electric,” said owner Jon Kissinger, “My dad, Jim Kissinger, started the business in 1978 out of our home and I have enjoyed watching us grow and continue to grow serving this community and the surrounding area.”
Kissinger currently has 14 employees and will add eight new jobs. The anticipated start of the project is early March, and the anticipated completion date is August 1.
“As the county continues to grow, we need people in the construction trades who can help us build that future. We are particularly proud to see the continued success of a home-grown family business,” said Whitley County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) President Jon Myers.
As an incentive, Whitley County Council approved a 10-year tax abatement for the new building project at the request of the Whitley County EDC and Whitley County Redevelopment Commission.
“It’s gratifying to see a local small business continue to grow in the proportions that Kissinger Electric has grown,” said Bill Overdeer of the Whitley County Council and Redevelopment Commission.
