2G Group To Build A Multi-Million Dollar Manufacturing Plant in St. Augustine, Florida

2G CENERGY Power Systems Technologies Inc., a German-based 2G Energy AG Group Company, will build a multi-million dollar 60,000-square-foot production facility in St. Augustine, Florida, where it will produce its advanced Combined Heat and Power, clean energy, power generation systems.

The company purchased 10 acres at St. Augustine Interstate Commercial Park, along with adjacent property for future expansion. 2G estimates it will initially create about 125 direct jobs, along with a significant number of jobs in related sectors.

"The U.S. market is an important part of our group strategy and we are now very resolutely accessing that market," said Michael Turwitt, President and CEO of 2G-CENERGY. "The 2G Group will be extremely active here, and this new plant represents a milestone in 2G's history. This new production site will play a key role.

"This is a significant step forward in achieving our goals in the U.S. market and a clear sign of the 2G's Group's commitment to all North and South American customers. Today's decision is a fundamental part of our new strategic direction in the U.S.," said Christian Grotholt, President and CEO of 2G Energy AG in Germany. "St. Augustine is an excellent fit for 2G, having an exceptional quality of life and a long manufacturing tradition. This is a significant investment positioning 2G to maintain its leadership position, " Grotholt added.

"We're pleased that 2G selected St. Johns County for its first U.S. manufacturing plant," said Mark P. Miner, Chairman of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners. "This project will provide significant economic benefit to St. Johns County through the high number of well-paying, new jobs to be created and commercial tax base to be generated. Not only does the project benefit St. Johns County, but it also provides benefit to Northeast Florida and the state as a whole in our collective efforts to attract targeted clean technology energy companies."

While state officials did not discuss incentives offered the company, Gov. Rick Scott's office noted his package of tax reforms to promote economic development was just enacted. "Florida's economy will be better positioned to grow, create jobs and get Floridians back to work. By eliminating burdensome rules and regulations, and providing tax relief to our job creators Florida will continue to see its unemployment rate drop, businesses will grow and Florida will become the best state in the country to open, expand or move a business," the Gov. said.
