The investment will include the acquisition of a 338,000-square-foot facility in Orlinda that will become the company’s primary manufacturing hub. Additionally, the company’s existing Portland facility will become its welcome center, dedicated research and development (R&D) hub and a production site for global partnership products.
“I’ve been in Tennessee for over 30 years, and this place isn’t just where I work and build businesses, it’s home. I’m proud of what we’re cranking out here at Create Energy: real growth, real jobs and the newest, coolest energy products the world wants. We have a wave of major initiatives underway, and with our active presence in the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market, there’s much more on the horizon. We’re moving fast, and we’re here to shake things up with solutions that are truly best in class. Come check out the new facility, it’s pretty darn awesome,” said Dean Solon, Founder and CEO, Create Energy.
Create Energy provides engineering, construction, and maintenance solutions for utilities and energy providers across electric, gas, and renewable systems. The company focuses on supporting grid modernization, power delivery, and energy transition projects through services such as transmission and distribution construction, substation work, and renewable integration.
“When existing companies choose to grow here, it underscores Tennessee’s strong workforce and business-friendly climate. This project exemplifies the type of company we’re proud to support as the Volunteer State leads the nation in developing clean, reliable and safe energy. We remain committed to advancing R&D so that companies like Create Energy can continue to innovate, expand and thrive,” noted Deputy Governor and TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter.
“On behalf of TVA and Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation, we congratulate Create Energy on its decision to locate in Robertson County. Supporting companies in creating jobs and investment in the Valley is fundamental to TVA’s mission of service. We are proud to partner with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the Robertson County Economic Development Board and City of Orlinda to further that mission and celebrate Create Energy’s continued business success,” added Heidi Smith, vice president of economic development, TVA.
