Westerman Expands-Plans Bremen-Hebron, Ohio, Operations

Energy equipment manufacturer Westerman plans to expand its operations in Bremen and establish operations in Hebron, Ohio. The $51.5 million project is expected to create 345 jobs.

The investment will include an expansion at the company’s existing Bremen headquarters and the revamp of a 100,000-square-foot-facility in Hebron that will support its nuclear transport and storage product line.

“Energy customers are asking American manufacturers to do more, and Westerman is ready to meet that demand,” said Westerman CEO Jacob Garrett. “Adding 210 jobs in Bremen allows us to grow from the foundation our company has built over 117 years. Establishing a dedicated operation in Hebron positions our team to support one of the country’s most important nuclear energy projects. We are investing in Ohio because we believe in the people and communities here.”

To support the Bremen project, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a nine-year, 1.644% Job Creation Tax Credit.

Nauseef. “The country needs more reliable power and more American production and Westerman's investment in Bremen and Hebron delivers both. This strengthens the domestic supply chain for oil, gas and nuclear, and it reinforces Ohio's leadership in the manufacturing that secures the nation's energy future.”

To support the Hebron project, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.407%, eight-year job creation tax credit.

Westerman’s investments in Bremen and Hebron demonstrate what regional success should deliver: growth that every part of the Region can share.”

Westerman designs and manufactures specialized equipment for the energy sector, serving oil and natural gas customers as well as nuclear applications.

“When a new company comes to town it’s always a big story, but it’s the current businesses that keep our community growing, and the Westerman expansion is a prime example of what happens when good people run good, local companies,” said Fairfield County Economic Development Director Rick Szabrak. “Westerman has been an amazing partner of our workforce programs. They’re always willing to provide plant tours to show students the great opportunities they can have in manufacturing and as welders. We look forward to helping them train and hire their future workforce.”
