Methode Electronics Plans Southfield, Michigan, Headquarters Operations

10/16/2026
Electrical components manufacturer Methode Electronics Inc. plans to establish operations in Southfield, Michigan. The $3.7 million project is expected to create at least 90 jobs in Oakland County.

The investment will include the relocation of the company's corporate headquarters and principal office.

“Our move to Southfield is a natural next step in Methode's transformation,” said Methode Electronics President and CEO Jon DeGaynor. “Being closer to our customers and the broader Detroit automotive network strengthens our ability to operate strategically, collaborate more effectively, and position the company for long-term success."

To support the project, the Michigan Strategic Fund approved a $900,000 performance-based grant through the Michigan Business Development Program.

“The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is proud to support investments that strengthen Michigan’s economy and reinforce our communities as destinations for business growth,” noted Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Senior Vice President of Regional Development Matt McCauley. “We welcome Methode’s decision to establish its headquarters in Southfield, a testament to the strength of Michigan’s business environment and the talent found throughout our state. This investment will create new opportunities, support quality jobs, and contribute to the continued growth and vitality of the Southfield community.”

Methode Electronics specializes in the design and manufacturing of electronic components and systems for automotive, commercial vehicle, aerospace and industrial applications. The company produces electrical interconnects, sensors, power distribution systems and other engineered electronic solutions for equipment manufacturers.

“Methode’s decision to relocate its headquarters to Southfield is another strong indication of the Detroit Region's competitive strengths. Companies continue to choose our region because of our leadership in advanced manufacturing, exceptional talent, and collaborative approach to helping businesses grow,” added Detroit Regional Partnership President and CEO Justin Robinson. “We are proud to welcome Methode Electronics and support its next chapter of success.”
