Germany-Based INNIO N.V. Expands Waukesha, Wisconsin, Production Operations

08/21/2026
Germany-based distributed energy solutions provider INNIO N.V. plans to expand its operations in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The more than $300 million project is expected to create more than 500 jobs.

The investment at the company’s existing North American production facility will include the construction of more than 80,000 square feet of advanced testing space as well as office and shop floor renovations.

“The expansion is a testament to our long-term commitment to local value creation in the U.S. and to meeting the rising demand for decentralized power solutions that are shaping the future of energy,” said Roger George, CEO of Waukesha, INNIO. To support the project, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) authorized up to $6 million in performance-based state income tax credits. The amount of the credits will be contingent upon the number of jobs created and the company’s capital investment.

INNIO provides distributed energy solutions, including natural gas-powered engines and related technologies used in power generation and gas compression applications.

“It’s exciting that INNIO has decided to expand its presence here in Wisconsin,” noted WEDC Secretary and CEO John W. Miller. “INNIO’s decision to continue to grow here in Wisconsin reflects our state’s long manufacturing tradition, our talented workforce, and the culture of innovation that so many global companies have embraced.”

“We’re thrilled to see INNIO continue growing in Waukesha and expanding its commitment to southeastern Wisconsin,” added Milwaukee 7 Regional Partnership Executive Director Rebecca Gries. “This investment demonstrates the confidence global companies have in our region’s talent, manufacturing strengths, and ability to help businesses succeed. We are proud to support INNIO’s continued growth and the impact this project will have across the region, creating new opportunities for workers, generating business for local suppliers, and bringing additional investment to communities throughout southeastern Wisconsin.”

“INNIO’s more than $300 million investment is a significant commitment to Waukesha and a strong example of the impact of supporting companies that choose to grow here,” said Waukesha County Center for Growth Executive Director Therese Thill. “WCCG is proud to work alongside INNIO and our local and state partners to help advance this expansion and strengthen Waukesha’s manufacturing base.”
