Fortified Solar Expands Greenville County, South Carolina, Manufacturing Operations

Solar roofing manufacturer Fortified Solar plans to expand its operations in Greenville, South Carolina. The $22.75 million project is expected to create more than 151 jobs.

The company's new facility, located at 10 A.D. Asbury Road, will increase manufacturing, production, and operational capabilities to support growing demand for its integrated solar roofing products.

“This expansion represents an important milestone for Fortified Solar as we continue to invest in American manufacturing and meet growing demand for integrated solar roofing solutions. Greenville County has been a strong foundation for our growth and this investment allows us to increase production capacity, create new jobs and strengthen our ability to serve individuals across the country,” said Justin Draplin, CEO of Fortified Solar.

To support the project the Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits. The council also awarded a $150,000 Set-Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with building improvements.

“As South Carolina continues to maintain its position as a leader in advanced manufacturing, Fortified Solar’s $22.75 million investment supports economic growth in a key industry. We look forward to the company’s continued success in the Palmetto State,” noted Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III.

Fortified Solar manufactures custom steel roofing systems with building-integrated photovoltaic technology for commercial and residential applications. The company also produces solar carports, canopies, and energy storage solutions.
