India-Based Sun Pharma Expands Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Operations

08/18/2026
India-based pharmaceutical company Sun Pharma has expanded its operations in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The approximately $56 million project is expected to create more than 35 jobs.

The investment includes a new 50,000-square-foot environmentally controlled warehouse with capacity for approximately 4,500 pallets, a highly regulated pharmaceutical production suite and a Quick Changeover Tube Filling line.

“In partnership with the City of Brampton, we are excited to expand a facility that already produces a significant amount of the medicines Sun Pharma supplies to Canada,” said Rick Ascroft, CEO, North America, Sun Pharma. “This growth enhances our ability to support patients and customers across Canada, and we look forward to building our presence even further in a city renowned as a destination for the health sector and advanced manufacturing.”

Sun Pharma develops, manufactures, and markets generic and specialty medicines for therapeutic areas including dermatology, ophthalmology, oncology, and neurology.

“Brampton’s strength has always been its people. Sun Pharma’s expansion highlights the depth of talent, expertise and diversity that make our city an attractive place for companies to grow,” noted Rowena Santos, Vice-Chair of Economic Development for the City of Brampton. “As our health and life sciences sector continues to evolve, investments like this help create opportunities for residents, support career growth and contribute to a more innovative and inclusive economy.”
