New Zealand-Based SunScout Holding Plans Buda, Texas, Manufacturing Operations

08/17/2026
New Zealand-based cleantech robotics company SunScout Holding Limited plans to establish operations in Buda, Texas. The project is expected to create approximately 50 jobs.

The investment will include the construction of a new manufacturing facility.

“Buda offers the space, the workforce, and the pro-business environment we need to grow our U.S. manufacturing footprint,” said Edwin Cywinski, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of SunScout Holding Limited. “We’re excited to bring SunScout’s manufacturing to Central Texas and to grow alongside this community.”

To support the project, SunScout is eligible for the Buda EDC RISE Workforce Incentive, a performance-based program tied to job creation, competitive wages and employee retention. If all program benchmarks and retention milestones are met, the company could receive up to approximately $312,500 in incentives, including additional incentives for hiring Buda residents.

SunScout Holding Limited specializes in solar-powered, wire-free robotic mowing technology.

“SunScout’s arrival adds an innovative clean-technology manufacturer to Buda’s growing roster of advanced manufacturing companies, further establishing the region as a hub for forward-looking, sustainable industries,” noted Brian Dyer, Assistant Director of Recruitment and Development at the Buda EDC. “Through tools like the RISE Workforce Incentive, we’re able to support quality job creation while welcoming companies that share our commitment to innovation and community growth.”
