Saginaw Control & Engineering Expands Thomas Township, Michigan, Operations

04/22/2026
Electrical equipment manufacturer Saginaw Control & Engineering, Inc. plans to expand its operations in Thomas Township, Michigan. The $50 million project is expected to create at least 95 jobs in Saginaw County.

The investment will include the construction of a new 230,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, along with the addition of advanced machinery and equipment at the company’s existing sites.

“This expansion is about more than increasing capacity; it’s about investing in our people and supporting the community that has supported us over the years,” said Scott Baldauf, Vice President of Saginaw Control & Engineering. “This investment reflects our commitment to long-term growth and strengthening our operations in Michigan.”

To support the project, the Michigan Strategic Fund approved a $570,000 performance-based grant through the Michigan Business Development Program. Additional support includes a locally approved real property tax abatement and a State Education Tax abatement authorized by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, all tied to job creation and investment.

“Saginaw Control & Engineering is a strong example of how collaboration between local communities and the state can drive economic growth,” noted Tom Miller Jr., President and CEO of Saginaw Future. “This project will create quality jobs and further strengthen the region’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing.”

Saginaw Control & Engineering manufactures electrical enclosures and related components for industrial and commercial applications. The company’s operations include design, metal fabrication, finishing, and assembly, supplying products to customers across electrical, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors.
