Textron Systems Expands St. Tammany-Orleans Parish, Louisiana, Operations

04/22/2026
Defense and aerospace manufacturer Textron Systems Corporation plans to expand its operations in St. Tammany Parish and Orleans Parish, Louisiana. The $5.8 million project is expected to create 133 jobs.

The investment will include upgrades at multiple of the company’s existing facilities to support production of advanced military vehicles and naval systems.

“Thanks to our partnership with the state of Louisiana, these investments will enable us to support further growth in the community while enhancing our offerings to our U.S. military and international customers,” said Ryan Schaffernocker, Senior Vice President of Marine Systems at Textron Systems.

To support the project, Louisiana is providing an incentives package that includes workforce development through LED FastStart, a $600,000 performance-based grant for equipment and infrastructure, and participation in the Industrial Tax Exemption and High Impact Jobs programs, all tied to job creation and investment.

“Textron Systems’ expansion across multiple sites in Southeast Louisiana reinforces our state’s leadership in advanced manufacturing,” noted Susan B. Bourgeois, Secretary of Louisiana Economic Development (LED). “This investment strengthens our role in critical defense programs and supports long-term workforce growth.”

Textron Systems Corporation, a subsidiary of Textron Inc., develops and manufactures systems for military and government applications. The company provides unmanned systems, electronic systems, weapons, and advanced marine craft.

“Textron Systems’ continued investment underscores the strength of our region as a hub for advanced manufacturing and defense innovation,” added Michael Hecht, President and CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc. “These projects enhance the region’s role in supporting national defense while driving job growth.”

“This project leverages St. Tammany’s infrastructure to attract high-wage jobs and strengthen long-term competitiveness,” said Russell Richardson, President and CEO of the St. Tammany Economic Development Corporation.
