Mondi Expands Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Production Operations

04/23/2026
Packaging manufacturer Mondi plans to establish operations in Findlay Township, Pennsylvania. The project is expected to create approximately 170 jobs in Allegheny County.

The investment will include the consolidation of existing operations into a new 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility located at 2201 Sweeney Drive in Clinton Commerce Park.

“The opening of our new Pittsburgh plant marks an important milestone for our paper bags business in North America,” said Rory Taylor, President of Paper Bags Americas at Mondi. “By bringing production together in a modern facility, we are strengthening our ability to support customers with reliable, high-quality solutions.”

To support the project, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development provided a funding proposal for a $1,036,000 Pennsylvania First grant tied to job creation and investment.

“We’re proud to support Mondi as they create new jobs and grow their presence in Allegheny County,” noted Rick Siger, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. “This project demonstrates the strength of our workforce and manufacturing sector.”

Mondi produces packaging and paper products for industrial and consumer applications. The company’s operations include pulp production, paper manufacturing, and conversion into flexible and paper-based packaging.

“The expansion brings valuable job opportunities and strengthens critical supply chains in our region,” added Lauren Connelly, Director of Allegheny County Economic Development. “We are proud to support Mondi’s continued growth in our community.”
