Australia-Based Syenta Establishes Tempe, Arizona, Semiconductor Development Operations

04/23/2026
Semiconductor technology company Syenta plans to establish operations in Tempe, Arizona. The project is expected to create 200 jobs.

The company’s new 3,500-square-foot facility, located at ASU Research Park, will support semiconductor engineering, systems architecture, and advanced manufacturing and serve as a demonstration and development hub for its Localized Electrochemical Manufacturing (LEM) technology.

“Tempe is a natural choice for our first U.S. operations,” said Jekaterina Viktorova, CEO and Founder of Syenta. “The city offers world-class talent, research collaboration, and an ecosystem that allows us to scale our advanced packaging technology in support of AI system performance worldwide.”

Syenta develops manufacturing processes for advanced chip packaging, focusing on enabling faster, more efficient production of semiconductor components used in AI, quantum computing, and advanced electronics. The company uses a proprietary method called Localized Electrochemical Manufacturing to improve how interconnects are built within high-performance chips.

“Syenta’s decision to launch its U.S. operations in Tempe reinforces Arizona’s position as a leading semiconductor ecosystem,” noted Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA). “This facility strengthens a critical part of the supply chain and accelerates innovation in advanced packaging.”

Syenta develops advanced semiconductor packaging technologies, supporting high-performance computing and artificial intelligence applications through next-generation manufacturing solutions.

“Located in the center of America’s semiconductor onshoring, Syenta will work closely with Arizona State University to scale its U.S. operations,” added Christine Mackay, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “We’re excited to welcome the company and support its continued growth in the region.”

“Syenta and ASU share a commitment to innovation and advancing next-generation technologies,” said Neil Calfee, Executive Director of Economic Development at Arizona State University. “This collaboration will help drive semiconductor innovation and strengthen Arizona’s position as a global hub for technology.”
