Prysmian Expands Lexington County, South Carolina, Manufacturing Operations

08/15/2026
Cable and fiber manufacturer Prysmian plans to expand its operations in Lexington County, South Carolina. The $80 million project is expected to create approximately 135 new jobs.

The investment at the company’s existing facility will increase manufacturing capacity for FlexRibbon fiber optic cable and support continued growth in the data center and digital infrastructure markets.

“This investment demonstrates our commitment to supporting the growth of the U.S. demand for advanced digital solutions. We are one of just three U.S. manufacturers of fiber and optical cables, and now we are committing more than a billion dollars to new innovative solutions and transformational capacity growth,” said Prysmian North America CEO Andrea Pirondini.

Prysmian is a manufacturer of cable systems and connectivity solutions for the energy, telecommunications, and digital infrastructure markets. The company specializes in the development and manufacturing of power transmission and distribution cables, fiber-optic and telecommunications cables, submarine cable systems, and related connectivity technologies.

“Congratulations to Prysmian as it expands its manufacturing capabilities in Lexington County,” noted Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III. “We look forward to the company’s ongoing success as it continues to grow its footprint here in South Carolina.”
