Amazon Plans Greenwood, Indiana, Manufacturing Operations

Amazon plans to establish manufacturing operations in Greenwood, Indiana. The more than $100 million project is expected to create 300 jobs by the end of 2028.

“We're thrilled to bring 300 advanced manufacturing jobs to Greenwood, Indiana, and to continue investing in growth and opportunities across the state,” said Amazon Vice President of Economic Development Holly Sullivan. “This facility represents a significant investment in the Indianapolis community that will create jobs with a median salary well above the regional average. Indiana has a world-class manufacturing workforce and business-friendly environment, and we’re excited to continue creating opportunities for people across the state and helping them learn the new skills they need to take advantage of those opportunities.”

The investment will include the purchase and equipping of a 585,000-square-foot facility at 1175 Collins Road to manufacture products supporting the company’s fulfillment and robotics network. Production is scheduled to begin in 2028.

“This project checks so many of the boxes we identified when developing Johnson County’s new economic development strategy,” added Aspire Johnson County Vice President of Economic Development Amanda Rubadue. “We want to grow opportunities for our residents through higher-wage jobs, attract innovative companies and operations, and build upon the advanced manufacturing strengths already present in our community. Amazon’s investment is a fantastic win for Greenwood and creates an impact throughout Johnson County.”
