Prysmian Expands Jackson, Tennessee, Manufacturing Operations

Cable and fiber manufacturer Prysmian plans to expand its operations in Jackson, Tennessee. The $100 million project is expected to create 100 jobs in Madison County.

The investment will renovate and double the size of the company’s existing manufacturing facility.

“This investment demonstrates our commitment to supporting the growth of the U.S. demand for advanced digital solutions. We are one of just three U.S. manufacturers of fiber and optical cables, and now, we are committing more than a billion dollars across the U.S. to new innovative solutions and transformational capacity growth,” said Andrea Pirondini, CEO of Prysmian North America.

“When a company decides to expand in Tennessee multiple times, especially in a competitive project like this one, it signals our efforts to make Tennessee the best place to live, work and raise a family are paying off,” noted Deputy Governor and TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter. “Thank you to Prysmian for continuing to invest in our state and our people, and I wish them the best of luck moving forward.”

Prysmian is a manufacturer of cable systems and connectivity solutions for the energy, telecommunications and digital infrastructure markets. The company specializes in the development and manufacturing of power transmission and distribution cables, fiber-optic and telecommunications cables, submarine cable systems and related connectivity technologies.
